Today, automotive supplier Huf Group announced to sell its die casting facility in Milwaukee to Bruschi S.p.A., a leading zinc casting supplier headquartered in Milan, Italy. Bruschi will take over the site and its 73 employees and merge the former Huf North America Die Cast Corporation with its own US operations. In Milwaukee, Huf produces die cast products exclusively for internal supply to its North American sites. After closing of the transaction, Bruschi will continue to deliver die cast parts to the Huf sites in Greeneville (Tennessee), Puebla (Mexico) and Atibaia (Brazil).
“The sale of our North American die cast activities to Bruschi enables us to outsource the supply of die cast parts to a strong partner with high expertise, who is able to generate economies of scale due to a broader customer base. Thus, our customers will profit from high quality at improved cost”, Tom Graf, CEO of Huf Group explained. “The acquisition of Huf North America Die Cast perfectly fits into our strategy to expand our global footprint and strengthen our position as experts for Zinc die casting in key markets. The site has an excellent track record as manufacturer of high quality Zamak parts for the automotive industry. This ideally complements our customer base in electronics, household appliances, textile and other industries,” Paolo Rastelli, CEO of Bruschi said on the occasion of signing the contract.
The transaction is part of “One Huf plus”, an overall transformation program the company has started earlier this year to increase its competitiveness. To optimize the company’s global production network, the Huf Group Management has decided to focus its North American operations on its core products in the area of car access and authorization solutions. In consequence, the die cast plant in Milwaukee will be sold to Bruschi.
